The Author

Greetings from your fearless author!

I am a first year grad student at University of Michigan's School of Information. My specialization is Library and Information Science. Prior to UMSI, I was granted my B.S. in Environmental Studies from a small private liberal arts college in Indiana. While there, I conducted research on larval development of Redside Dace and also causation of red coloration in male Southern Redbelly Dace. As thrilling as such scientific endeavors might sound, I found that I needed more from life than just learning mating behaviors of various species. Being a well-rounded person, I turned to libraries as a potential answer for my ongoing quest to seek all kinds of knowledge.

While at UMSI, I have been introduced to so many wonderful things. It has really shaped the direction I want to go in. I hope to work in a public library, especially with teens. But I am also open to working with the digital side of things such as web design, marketing, etc.

In my spare time,  I enjoy a lot of things.

Joking around with my husband
Dancing, Singing, Playing the piano, guitar, ukelele, viola or clarinet
Visiting with my family and friends
Designing cross-stitch patterns
Illustrating
Finding old photos
Looking up facts about animals
Undergoing cases of nostalgia
Creating
Playing scrabble
Putting together puzzles
Doing old Hollywood star impressions
Running
Quilting
Looking at funny photos of cats and dogs (but really any animal will do)
